As a child, Rudi got to personally experience his parents’ farm being transformed into our beloved holiday home. Today, he loves to spend his time in the vineyard and give guided tours, tastings, or even hiking tips – because he knows South Tyrol’s most beautiful spots like the back of his hand. His wife Maria is the good soul of the hotel. She lovingly takes care of the flowers and decorations in the hotel every day.

A look back

We’ve now been running our Resmairhof with plenty of love and passion for some 50 years. Over this time, a lot has happened here. That seems like a good reason to take a closer look at the history of our hotel.

Once upon a time, there was a little farming village

You’ll find it hard to believe, but back in the 1950s, Schenna was a small, unassuming farming village and completely unknown to tourists. But with each passing year, more and more guests made their way to this idyllic, sunny village above Meran, and our grandparents transformed their farmstead into a small but delightful guesthouse.

From a small guesthouse to a hotel

Very soon, son Rudi and his wife Maria started to help with his parents’ business and in 1999 they carried out extensive renovation work to transform the guesthouse into a wonderful hotel, which delighted guests from near and far. Rudi and Maria’s children were also delighted, and soon followed in their parents’ footsteps.

Lovelier, bigger, better

The 2010s were filled with expansions, improvements, renovations, and plenty of loving attention to detail.

  • 2010: New southwest-facing accommodation wing, new spa area, and new outdoor water world
  • 2011: Renovation of the entire hotel kitchen giving it a panoramic view of the church hill
  • 2014: Restructuring of the vineyard and construction of a degustation room
  • 2018: Renovation and furnishing of all rooms with wooden flooring and air conditioning
  • 2019: Expansion of the vineyard

Although our Resmairhof has changed its look over the years, one thing has remained the same: our friendliness and warm hospitality in each and every detail of your holiday. That’s a promise!
