From Germany

  • Via Munich motorway (304km away) – Innsbruck (157km away) – Brenner to Bolzano (motorway exit Bolzano south) – Bolzano expressway – Meran (exit Meran south) – turn right towards Schenna on the state road shortly before Meran
  • Via Munich motorway – Innsbruck – Brenner to Sterzing – over Passo Giovo/Jaufenpass (2,094m) through Val Passiria/Passeiertal towards Meran and turn left towards Schenna shortly before Meran
  • Via Füssen – Reutte – through Ötztal over Passo del Rombo/Timmelsjoch (2,483m, closed in winter) to Val Passiria/Passeiertal towards Meran and turn left towards Schenna shortly before Meran

From Austria

  • via Landeck – Passo Resia/Reschenpass (1,504m – 82km away) through Val Venosta/Vinschgau to the Meran south exit – on the state road, turn right towards Schenna shortly before Meran
  • via Lienz (Osttirol) through Val Pusteria/Pustertal to Bruneck, from there continue to Brixen (motorway entrance) – on the motorway to Bolzano south (exit) – continue towards Meran and turn right towards Schenna shortly before Meran

From further south in Italy

  • via the A22 Brenner motorway – Bolzano Sud exit, Bolzano expressway – Meran (exit Meran south) – turn right towards Schenna on the state road shortly before Meran

From Switzerland

  • via Davos – Flüelapass (2,389m) – Ofenpass (2,155m) – Santa Maria – Taufers i. M. – through Val Venosta/Vinschgau to Meran (135km)
  • via Landquart – Davos – Flüelapass (2,389m) – Ofenpass (2,155m) – Santa Maria – Taufers i. M. – through Val Venosta/Vinschgau to Meran (135km)
  • or Landquart – Klosters – Vereina tunnel (car shuttle train approx. every 30 min. | travel time 18 min.) – Scuol – Ofenpass – Santa Maria – Taufers i. M. – through Val Venosta/Vinschgau to Meran (135km)

No problem!

Arriving by bus

Arriving from Germany? Be kind to the environment and travel directly and cheaply by coach from Munich to Schenna and back again. The bus runs every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 March to 9 November:

  • Depart from Munich ZOB (central bus station): 2 p.m.
  • Arrive in Schenna: approx. 6.30 p.m.
  • Depart from Schenna school car park: 6.30 a.m.
  • Arrive at Munich ZOB (central bus station): approx. 11 a.m.

Travelling from Switzerland? No problem! The Südtirol Express transports you from Switzerland to your holiday home in Schenna every Saturday from spring to autumn.

If you are travelling from Germany or Austria, you also have the option of choosing Flixbus. It runs daily from several German and Austrian cities via Munich and Innsbruck to Meran.

Arriving by train

Trenitalia, German DB, and Austrian ÖBB trains take you to Bolzano quickly and directly several times a day. Once you’ve arrived in Bolzano, take the modern South Tyrolean trains to Meran and then take the hotel shuttle or bus to Resmairhof.

Choose between the following options:

  • Arrival by train from Germany: Enjoy low-cost travel to South Tyrol with DB’s super saver rates.
  • Urlaubs-Express: Car trains from Hamburg and Dusseldorf to Innsbruck from mid-May to the end of September 2024 (arrival on Friday, departure on Saturday)
  • Arrival by train from Austria: A daily direct connection (changing once in Bolzano) from Innsbruck to Meran or the other way round
  • Arrival by train from Switzerland
  • By train to Bolzano and Meran
  • Südtirol Transfer: Connecting shuttle for the last few kilometres to the hotel

Arriving by plane

South Tyrolean airline Sky Alps takes you from major European cities to the regional capital Bolzano comfortably, cheaply, and without transferring:

  • Winter 2023/2024: Antwerp, Billund, Copenhagen, and London
  • Departures from Germany: Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg (three times per week), Kassel (up to twice per week)
  • Departures from Italy: Brindisi, Calgiari, Catania, Lamezia Terme, and Olbia

Schenna tourist association will arrange your transfer from the airport to your hotel in Schenna and back again for a small fee of €15.00 per person.

Other airports can be found in:

  • Innsbruck (approx. 154km): Direct flights from Frankfurt, Vienna, Amsterdam, and London Gatwick
  • Verona (approx. 176km): Direct flights with Eurowings from Cologne/Bonn from May to October 2024 as well as from Frankfurt and Munich
  • Bergamo (approx. 259km)
  • Venice (approx. 298km)

 

Südtirol Bus takes you to the various airports in Munich, Innsbruck, Verona, Bergamo, Milan Malpensa, Treviso, and Venice.

Südtirol Guest Pass Schenna

Exploring South Tyrol without a car? No problem! From 1 January 2024, you can use all public transport of the South Tyrolean transport network “südtirolmobil” free of charge thanks to the Südtirol Guest Pass Schenna. You will receive the pass upon arrival at our reception.

südtirolmobil encompasses:

  • Regional trains from Brenner to Trento and from Mals to Innichen
  • Schenna hiking shuttle bus
  • Local buses (city buses and intercity buses)
  • The cable cars to Ritten, Meransen, Kohlern, Mölten, and Vöran
  • The Ritten tramway and the Mendel funicular railway
  • The PostBus operating cross-border between Mals and Müstair
